Serving Our Veterans
We take pride in recognizing and honoring the sacrifices of the men and women who have dedicated their lives to defend our country. In 2015 Aimco launched a special Aimco Cares Veterans Day volunteer program. It was our opportunity to serve those who have served our country and protected our freedoms.
Joining Forces with TAPS
Aimco has partnered with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) for eight years with meaningful results:
- $933,000 to support military families dealing with the loss of a loved one
- Washington, D.C. team volunteering with TAPS at the Marine Marathon
- Denver team members greeting families attending the TAPS National Suicide Prevention Seminar
“The families of America’s fallen heroes are so very grateful for the generosity of Aimco Cares, and for the support the employees of Aimco provide to TAPS to sustain critical survivor programs.”
— Bonnie Carroll, TAPS President and Founder, 2015 Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient
A shining example of Aimco’s commitment to military families is our four year partnership with Project Sanctuary, a national nonprofit that helps returning military personnel reunite with their families.
“Project Sanctuary is eternally grateful for the support provided by Aimco Cares. Because of Aimco’s generous contributions and volunteer efforts, our program and our reach continue to expand to meet the growing numbers of military families in crisis.”
—Heather Ehle, CEO and Founder of Project Sanctuary
